Florida Medicaid Health Care Alert – Mental Health Services

Fla Medicade

Additional Flexibilities Related to Behavioral Health Services

To further ensure that Medicaid recipients in need of mental health services or substance use disorder treatment have the tools, resources, and support necessary to get through this difficult time without worry of benefit limitations, Governor DeSantis is requiring Medicaid to waive prior authorization requirements and services limits (frequency and duration) for behavioral health services (this includes targeted case management services) covered under the Medicaid program.

This flexibility is will be implemented by May 8, 2020 but will be made retroactively effective today.
